So I have this big presentation on Monday. We are talking career-determining presentation.
I chose to make it on my Mac. This means I cannot use any of the department computers to display it as it looks like crap.
This is ok... except...
Last night, I come home, open my laptop, wait for it to turn on, wait... wait... wait...
My computer screen is not coming on.
I get upset a little. Still nothing.
Today, same thing. Presentation looming.
Genius Bar tells me that they think it is the logic board (which I learn is the Mac term for mother board). I get upset a little.
They offer to try and fix it in 10 days and for a low low fee of $350. There is a possibility this will cause my hard drive to be wiped.
We take it apart at home - it is hard to take apart a Mac let me tell you. Most keys survive.
After some jiggling and tugging we turn it back on.
Nothing.
Then in about 15 minutes my screen comes on. It's aliiiive!
For how long? Only Aya knows...
Oh and did I mention the $100 of RAM I just got for him?

Ok... back from LA, which places me somewhere around halfway through my three months of non-stop travel. Haven't been back at the apartment yet since Friday morning. However:
Steven Seagal juice has been acquired, cactus candy has been eaten (it appears to only be sold in Arizona... alas), and I am now a citizen - or will be once I take the oath (Cambodia here I come).
Now I just have Chicago, Toronto, New York, Phnom Penh and maybe Boston, Lansing left.
